Am I being tracked?

In a word, yes. In two words, you are.

As with all Planetary Data System web sites, the computer server logs all requests. The Analyst's Notebook keeps a log of how much use various components are getting.

The information collected is used to provide better service (it helps us see how heavily servers and services are being used). It also helps us track errors that might occur. Finally, we gather usage statistics for reporting to NASA headquarters.

Here's what we don't do: we don't give the log entries to anyone. We don't know your password (if you have an account). We don't have any means of interacting with your computer (running programs or reading data). Besides, we really don't have the time.
